Some Creative Lab Work for Olympic Cyclist

SoleFit made custom orthotics for cycling shoes and hand splint for Olympic cyclist Mike Woods.

A little ‘arts and crafts’ work at SoleFit! Canadian Olympic cyclist Michael Woods broke a few bones in his hand in Europe a few weeks back and was looking for some protection in case of another crash. We casted his hand and vacuum pressed a thin piece of carbon fibre over the cast. After trimming it down and covering with a material that’s comfortable against the skin, it’s thin enough that it fits under his glove. Hopefully now that there is some protection there, he never needs it!
